2021 RETREATS

Inspiring Retreat
Inspired by two books:
Designing Your Live / Positive Intelligence

August 26-29 Weekend

Who will enjoy this retreat? Entrepreneurs, tech managers, anyone juggling both a career and raising children, a small company looking for an employee team building retreat. Virtually anyone looking to bring more meaning and enjoyment to their lives.

What will participants do?  Take the Positive Intelligence saboteur assessment test online and discuss the results as a group. Select some of the inquiry questions in the book and allow time to ponder and answer them. Applications include team building, mastering workload, working with “difficult” people, improving work/life balance, and reducing stress. Move on to Designing Your Life to dig into tools from a different approach.

Get the most out of personal and professional
development, all in a relaxing country setting.

Designing your Life
by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans

In this book, Bill Burnett and Dave Evans show us how design thinking can help us create a life that is both meaningful and fulfilling, regardless of who or where we are, what we do or have done for a living, or how young or old we are. The same design thinking responsible for amazing technology, products, and spaces can be used to design and build your career and your life, a life of fulfillment and joy, constantly creative and productive, one that always holds the possibility of surprise. Designing Your Life walks readers through the process of building a satisfying, meaningful life by approaching the challenge the way a designer would.

Positive Intelligence
by Shirzad Chamine

If you’ve read this book you’ll know all about the saboteurs and sages in your life. Ever want to sit down with others who love the book as much as you do? Or tell someone how this book has made a positive impact on your life? Maybe you are just curious since it’s a NY Times best seller and you want to take some time away to read the book in a quiet place, enjoying time in the country, far from distractions. Discover “Why only 20% of teams and individuals achieve their true potential and how you can achieve yours.”

“The tools in this book (Positive Intelligence) are simple yet have had a tremendous impact on my personal and professional life.”

“I spent an immense amount of time in my life in my late 20s reflecting, researching, reading, and stressing about what I wanted to do with my life. I wish I had had this book (Designing Your Life) then. It provides a well-reasoned, systematic, eminently practical, but joyful approach to navigating the (ever-evolving) question of what you want to do with your life, testing and pursuing your hypotheses, and living into the paths you pursue. It’s also an interesting read, and taught me a lot about design thinking and even some practical tidbits about behavioral science!”
